In practice most submissions are returned for administrative reasons rather than a failed technical approach. These five mistakes come up again and again.
1. No design calculation statement
The drawing shows every sprinkler head but carries no flow and pressure calculation for the most remote head.
2. Datasheets that do not match the drawing
Equipment codes in the bill of quantities differ from the attached datasheets, leaving the reviewer nothing to check against.
3. Missing equipment test certificates
Fire pumps, sprinkler heads and alarm panels all need valid certificates.
4. Layouts not updated to the latest architecture
Changed partitions invalidate the sprinkler coverage areas.
5. No interlock drawings
Missing control schematics for smoke extract fans, lifts and fire doors.
